Stallions at Stud - Australian Jumping & Eventing Horses
The Homestead
The homestead on the property dates back to the late 1800's. While a substantial addition was added in 1988, the main section of the original homestead still stands today. Around the homestead is an acre of gardens, a 25 meter swimming pool and a tennis court, with horse paddocks increasing in size as they get further from the homestead.

The Horse Facilities
Due to the extensive nature of the business, modern and safe facilities have been built on the property. Post and rail and plain wire fencing, ensures safe conditions for all of our bloodstock. Shelter- belts, run-in shelters and shade trees, provide protection all year round.

A sandstone stable block incorporating a tack and feed room is centrally located in the performance horse training division of the property.

A full sized, all weather surface arena, a cross country course to Novice level, and over 20 show jump fences ensure all horses receive the best start in their competitive careers.

Due to the location of the property, access to the river and kilometres of trail riding tracks are also freely accessible, giving exposure to a number of different experiences (eg: kangaroos, tractors, traffic, stock work, logs and ditches.)

Active Dressage and Jump clubs meet bi-monthly at least and there are two brackets of Agricultural shows in the nearby vicinity, where showjumping from low heights to World Cup standard are readily accessible. Numerous ODE's are also available with some travelling involved.

History
Australian Eventing and Jumping Horses was registered in 1999 by the current owner and operators Sarah and Samantha Wynn. The property was originally purchased in 1988 and over the last 20 years, continuous improvements and additions have been made, making the stud one of the most sort after equestrian facilities in the central west of NSW.

The stud is located near the Macquarie River 20km from Dubbo in regional NSW. Situated with access to undulating hills and flat pastures, the environment is ideal for the training and breeding of Australia's finest eventing and showjumping horses.

The property, called "Wenoona", covers 330 hectares and carries about fifty horses as well as a Shorthorn cattle stud of over a hundred head.

Sarah has had horses all her life and her maternal side of the family have been notable horsewomen for generations. Some of the bloodlines have been used by Sarah for over fifty years and they have proved to be capable and bold producing mares with intelligence and athleticism passed on to their respective progeny.

Samantha too, has been raised with horses and is an excellent rider, a past member of the Youth Development Squad for Showjumping, a Three Day Event competitor and a dedicated trainer of nearly all the competitive horses to be found at Wenoona.

Currently all broodmares at Wenoona are Thoroughbred and it is expected that some of the female progeny by Dusky Rhythm, will be joined to part warmblood stallions in the future. However it is the ambition of Australian Eventing & Jumping Horses, to retain the highest percentage of all pedigrees, as Thoroughbred bloodlines. This is to ensure athleticism, elegance and trainability and the producing of a horse that is suited to riders from the amateur ranks through to World Class competitors.
